A local team for garage door repair in St. Louis
When your garage door stops working, you want someone nearby who picks up the phone and tells you what happens next. Gateway Garage Doors is based on Delmar Blvd in St. Louis, and we repair garage doors for homeowners across the city and the inner-ring suburbs around it.
We are a new company, founded in 2026 and owned by Barel Biton. We can't point to a long history or a pile of reviews. What we can promise is what you get when you call: a local number, a team that offers same-day service, and a flat rate you know before the work starts.
Most repairs are completed in a single visit. The same technician who looks at your door and quotes the job is the one who does the work, so you don't explain the problem twice.

Door won't close or reverses: Often the safety sensors near the floor are out of line or blocked. Sometimes it is an opener limit setting or something in the door's path. We check the sensors, the settings and the opener itself.
Opener hums or clicks but the door doesn't move: This can point to a broken spring, a stripped gear or a problem in the opener. We find out which before recommending a repair.
Door is off track or a cable has come loose: Stop using the door. A door that is out of its track can fall or twist, and forcing it makes the damage worse.
Grinding, squeaking or shaking: Worn rollers, dry hinges and loose hardware are the usual causes. A roller replacement or a maintenance and tune-up often settles it.
We also replace damaged panels and worn bottom weather seals, and we program remotes and keypads.

Garage door repair questions
Why does my garage door reverse before it closes?
The most common cause is the safety sensors, which sit on each side of the door near the floor. If one is bumped, dirty or out of line, the door reverses. An obstruction in the path or a limit setting on the opener can do the same. If wiping and realigning the sensors doesn't help, call us.
My garage door is stuck open or halfway. What should I do?
Keep people and cars clear of the door and don't try to force it. Don't touch the springs, cables or brackets, which are under high tension. Call us and we will come out and fix it safely.
How can I tell if a spring is broken?
Signs include a loud bang from the garage, a visible gap in the torsion spring above the door, or a door that feels very heavy or won't lift. If you see any of these, stop using the opener and call us.
Can I replace a torsion spring myself?
We don't recommend it. Torsion springs hold a lot of stored force and can cause serious injury. Torsion springs sit on a bar above the door, while extension springs run along the sides of the tracks. Either type is best left to a technician.
How much does garage door spring replacement cost in St. Louis?
The price depends on the door's size and weight and the type of spring. We don't quote a number without seeing the door. Once we have, you get a flat rate before any work begins.
Should I repair or replace my garage door?
Repair usually makes sense when the damage is limited to parts like springs, rollers, cables or an opener. Replacement is worth considering when several panels are damaged or the door is badly worn. We offer free estimates on new door installation through December 19, 2026.
My opener clicks or hums but the door won't move. Why?
It could be a broken spring, a worn gear or a fault in the opener. Many openers also blink a code that points to the problem. Call us and we will diagnose it, whether it is a LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie or another brand.
The door is off track or a cable came off. Is it safe to use?
No. Stop using the door, including the opener. A door out of its track can fall or bend further. We will put it back safely and check the cables and rollers.
Why is my garage door noisy?
Grinding or squeaking usually means worn rollers, dry hinges or loose hardware. Replacing rollers or a maintenance and tune-up often quiets it.
Can you program a remote or keypad?
Yes. We program remotes and keypads for LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie and other openers.
Do you replace bottom seals and weather stripping?
Yes. A worn bottom seal can let in drafts, water and pests, so we replace weather seals as a standalone job.
What if my door breaks at night or on a holiday?
We offer emergency garage door service after hours. Call us any time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
